Love has Many Faces

Annotation:A group of people all share a common love--for Jane Austen's novels. In an unusual example of a movie that's arguably better than the book, we follow the adventures of a variety of different characters as their lives weave in and out of Jane Austen's much-loved novels.

Annotation:Courtney Stone is obsessed with Jane Austen novels--so much so that when she wakes up in the body of an 18th century woman, she's quickly able to adapt to life in the world of corsets and chamber pots. She enjoys the vivid fantasy until she begins to fall in love with a man from the past. Now how will she choose between the life she left behind and the one that may be nothing more than a delicious fantasy?

Annotation:All of Susan Elizabeth Phillips' audiobooks are excellent, especially the older ones narrated by the late Anna Fields. Funny, suspenseful, and romantic, the stories are filled with vibrant and engaging characters and spicy love scenes. It Had to be You is one of her best. With gorgeous football players, a strong and sexy heroine, and lots of steamy chemistry, what more can you ask for in a romance novel?

Annotation:Enzo the dog loves race cars, humans, and his race car driver master Denny--not necessarily in that order. Enzo's dearest wish is to become human, so he pays close attention to his master's words of wisdom, preparing for his future transition to life as a human. Will passion, determination, and love be enough to make Enzo's dreams come true?

Annotation:Pete the cat just loves his white shoes! But what happens when he steps into a huge pile of blueberries? Will Pete still love his shoes now that they've turned blue? Sing along with Pete and find out!

Annotation:It's 1986. The hotel is the Panama, a dilapidated landmark in Seattle. New owners have discovered belongings left by Japanese families when they were rounded up and sent to internment camps. For Henry Lee, they bring remembrances of the World War II years, of being 12 years old and trying to fit in at an all-white school while following Chinese cultural traditions of home, of his father's dread that he would be confused with the enemy, the Japanese. But most importantly, they bring back memories of a special friendship with Keiko, the only other student of Asian ethnicity at the school.

Annotation:Hannah Levi is a midwife in the Jewish ghetto of Venice in 1575. When a Christian nobleman asks her to aid his wife, she initially refuses - it is forbidden by law for a Jew to give care to a Christian. But she agrees when the nobleman offers an exorbitant fee, which will allow Hannah to buy back her husband, forced into slavery in Malta.

Annotation:Looking for romance? This beautifully filmed period piece is the movie to watch. A heart-felt sigh for Alan Rickman.

Annotation:A romantic comedy and a box of kleenex make a good mix in Anthony Minghella's first directorial film starring Alan Rickman and Juliet Stevenson.

Annotation:Erotic, delicious, intimate. To get you in the mood try a toasted nutella and banana sandwich or grilled lamb chops with coffee rub. Recipes featuring asparagus, chiles, figs, flowers, berries and chocolate will get your love life cooking. Check out the honey-glazed salmon.

Annotation:A modern retelling of Jane Austen's "Sense and Sensibility". Like the original it has romance and wit.

In this tender story, Myron, the library director, tells of the impact the cat (named Dewey Readmore Books) had on the library and its patrons.
