Great Medeival-ish Books & Movies

Annotation:A young adult novel that can be enjoyed by all ages. A well-crafted story in the vein of Paolini's hero, JRR Tolkien.

Annotation:A great story, jokes that keep the gore from being too much, romance, betrayal, heinous villains. Oh, and some nudity. What more can I say? It's a classic.

Annotation:It has stood the test of time. The gripping, brilliant first part of the trilogy. It is the fantasy journey tale that all others are measured against.

Annotation:A fantasy in a land loosely-based on Britain. Story is told uniquely from the perspective of a difference major character each chapter. Persevere at the beginning, when many characters are introduced at once; it's worth it! The mini-series is excellent and true to the key events and dialogue so far.

Annotation:Sean Connery, Julia Ormond, and for those who like him, Richard Gere (he does a good job) in this King Arthur/Lancelot/Guinevere love triangle that has beautiful sets, costumes and a few unique twists to the story for us romantics.

Annotation:The mini-series is good, and I liked the casting for the characters (It was nice to see Rufus Sewell as a good guy for a change). But read the book first!

Annotation:It has something for everyone. The characters are well-rounded and developed, and the story draws you in. There's a reason it's been so popular for so long. The only drawback is William gets a bit tiring--he's a little drawn out in his villainous role. A small price to pay for a great read!

Description
This list combines a mixture of the best historical drama, romance, and fantasy that I have enjoyed. Several of the books have been made into movies and mini-series. All the movie versions are good with the exception of Eragon.
