Annotation:Fascinating, and well written book about slavery, and about a freed slave that becomes a slave owner.

Annotation:This wasn't the most popular book. I would say less than half liked the book, BUT it was one of our best discussions. It's a fantastic book, with great characters and much to discuss.

Rachel Calof's Story Jewish Homesteader on the Northern Plains By Calof, Rachel (Book - 1995)

Annotation:This was an amazing story of a young Russian immigrant leaving behing a harsh life only to come to America and sturggle with life on a Nebraska Homestead. Gives a Jewish perspective of life as a frontier woman which led to a lively discussion. Highly recommend.

Annotation:This produced one of our best discussions. Not only was the subject fascinating and gave us much to discuss, we also shared our family stories and the importance of sharing our little known stories with our family members.
