I didn't hate this movie. It took me all the years from then to now to watch the thing. The music is good and the dancing is good. The story isn't much to write home about, but the coming of age thing is a standard 80's theme. Swayze is terrible. I think he was attempting an accent of some kind. The story moves along pretty well. The movie is shot well, especially for the 80's, and the sets, costumes and the scenery are all very well done.
Another favourite of mine - the dancing, the music and especially Patrick Swayze!
I can never get sick of this movie! It's such a classic!
better and better every time i watch it.
One of my all-time favourite movies, a classic!
Clasic love story and great dance movie. They dont make them like this any more even though Im sure they would like to. The characters have an innocence that plays against the decidedly not innocent situations that they find themselves in and that is what creates the charm.
I gave this sentimental teenage box-office favourite four stars purely for its dynamic & voluptuous dance sequences, choreographed by Kenny Ortega (who went on to even greater teenie-bopper fame for "High School Musical".) By contrast, its cliche-ridden plot about adolescent coming of age leaves much to be desired.
